Rep. Royce Presses Lew on Iran’s ‘High Risk’ Terror Designation
(Bloomberg) -- House Foreign Affairs Cmte Chairman Ed Royce in letter urges Treasury Sec. Jacob J. Lew to ensure Iran remains on list of countries designated by Financial Action Task Force as “high-risk and non-cooperative jurisdictions” for money laundering and terrorist financing.
- NOTE: Financial Action Task Force, which sets international standards for anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, meets next week
- “Hezbollah, Iran’s leading terrorist proxy, is currently playing a central role in Iran’s effort to prop up the murderous Assad regime in Syria,” says Royce, R-Calif.
