Ex-Vale CEO Agnelli, Who Led Miner for Decade, Dies in Crash

(Bloomberg) -- Former CEO Roger Agnelli died in an executive jet crash Saturday in Sao Paulo w/ his wife, son, daughter and 3 more people, according to local media.
  • Agnelli, 56, was CEO from 2001 through 2011 and helped co. to become the world’s top iron-ore producer and 2nd-biggest miner, Vale’s press office said in an e-mailed statement
  • During Agnelli’s tenure, Vale boosted its global expansion strategy, according to the statement
