(Bloomberg) -- Co. files in Tokyo District Court seeking injunction against unfair competition, according to emailed statement.
  • Toshiba seeking permanent injunction, damages and payment for alleged violation of Unfair Competition Prevention Act among other things, co. says in statement
  • Suit says WD has exaggerated consent right to “interfere” with sale of Toshiba Memory Corp.
  • Toshiba also says suit filed in Japan because WD obtained trade secrets by transferring employees of SanDisk to WD
  • NOTE: WD became joint venture partner of Toshiba in semiconductors after buying SanDisk. WD has sought to block sale
  • NOTE: Toshiba has selected consortium that doesn’t include WD as preferred bidder for TMC
