Brazil IPCA to Have 4Bps Impact From Fuel Prices: MCM

(Bloomberg) -- If price reductions announced by Petrobras are fully passed through and there are no changes in other portions that make up the final consumer price, diesel may fall 3.5%, or about 0.11 real per liter, on average, and gasoline may fall 0.9%, or 0.03 real per liter, on average, analysts at MCM say in report.
  • Total impact with gasoline and ethanol in the IPCA inflation index will be of around 4bps
  • Decision reflects the fall in international oil prices from $50/barrel to something below $46/barrel and the relative stabilization of the USD at around 3.30 reais
  • NOTE from June 14: Petrobras Cutting Gasoline Prices by Avg 2.3%, Diesel 5.8%
