(Bloomberg) -- President Rodrigo Duterte says allegations of hidden wealth are “pure garbage” but even so, he has ordered Anti-Money Laundering Council to give information on “what’s my worth in this, in terms of pesos, in this planet”
  • Duterte, in remarks Friday before Class 1967 of Philippine Military Academy, video clip of which was posted by Presidential Communications Office on its Facebook page, says he wants to ward off any corruption issues and so as not to embarrass military class that adopted him
  • “I said during the campaign that if any of my family, or I myself, would be involved in corruption in government, you can be sure, you have my word I will resign immediately”
  • Duterte says he only gets his salary and would forgo allowances; “I must set the example” as he intends to “hit hard against corruption”
