INDONESIA PREVIEW: Headline Inflation Seen Higher, Core Lower

(Bloomberg) -- Indonesian CPI probably rose 4.4% y/y in Feb. following 4.14% increase in Jan., according to median est. in Bloomberg survey; while core CPI is seen at to 3.60% y/y vs 3.62% y/y previously; all data is due tomorrow.
  • Inflation has been falling since touching multi year high at 8.36% y/y in Dec. 2014
  • Bank Indonesia sees inflation at 4% at year-end, in the middle of its 3.0% to 5.0% range, on soft oil prices
  • Indonesia’s central bank lowered its deposit facility rate in both Jan. and Feb.; now at 5.00%
  • USD/IDR is down 1.8% to 13,393 since release of Jan. CPI on Feb. 1
