Onshore Demand Can Play Protective Role in Asia Credit: Mirae

(Bloomberg) -- Onshore demand can play a protective role in Asian credit space when compared to emerging markets in other regions, says Kim Jinha, head of global fixed income at Mirae Asset.
  • “The FOMC stance was more hawkish than the market expected,” says Seoul-based Jinha. “It’s definitely not positive for overall EM credit.”
  • Countries with high real yield won’t have direct impact from Fed’s gradual rate hike
  • NOTE: Fed raises rates, boosts outlook for borrowing costs in 2017
